Hotel information :	For dining, contemporary English and European dishes are fashioned from fresh local ingredients, and can be enjoyed either in the bar, wine library, lounge or the the more formal and intimately-sized restaurant. Alternatively, for those occasions when you feel like relaxing with a drink, the traditional bar with its flag stone and oak floors, roaring log fires and feather cushion window seats will be waiting. Area information :	Kirkby Lonsdale is a really attractive market town with a handful of stylish shops. Its setting in a valley, alongside the River Lune, makes it a lovely area for walking. It is also close to many other areas of beauty such as Ingleton Falls, Arnside and Silverdale, Trough of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Nearby attractions include: Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club (5 km / 3 miles) - a picturesque parkland course nestling between the quaint village of Barbon and the River Lune. Undergoing meticulous, continuous development it is now recognised as one of the top golf courses in the north west White Scar Cave (13 km / 8 miles) - beneath the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the path of this underground cave winds its way past cascading waterfalls and between massive banks of flow-stone, all decorated with cream and carrot coloured stalactites and stalagmites. Lakeland Wildlife Oasis (17 km / 10.5 miles) - a unique and exciting blend of exotic wildlife and interactive hands-on displays, which take you through 3000 million years of evolution and follow the development of life on Earth.
Travel information :	By Car: From the M6: - Take junction 36 and travel along the A65, following signs for Kirkby Lonsdale. - After 8 km (5 miles) take the left turn signposted for Kirkby Lonsdale Town Centre. - Go down the road to the junction and then go straight ahead down the hill. - At the bottom turn right and the Sun Inn is on your left hand side. Parking: All parking in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale is either in the public car park (free between 18:00 and 09:00) or street-side, both just 2 minutes walk away from the inn. You can stop outside the inn to drop off luggage and we will direct you to the parking area. By Train: The nearest mainline station is Oxenholme (16 km / 10 miles), which is on the London to Glasgow/Edinburgh line. A taxi would be the easiest method of reaching the hotel from this point.
